Te Uru Kahika, the Regional and Unitary Councils of Aotearoa New Zealand, have recently appointed Dr Chris Daughney as their inaugural Chief Science Advisor. Chris will assist with and provide momentum to Te Uru Kahika science efforts and overarching strategy.
Listen to Chris talk about his new role on Radio New Zealand. Regional authorities have been involved with science efforts for decades but they are now facing increased pressure, including from rising sea levels and biodiversity loss.
Chris will interface closely with the departmental Chief Science Advisor forum that is convened by Juliet. Read more about Chris on our Chief Science Advisor Forum page.
