Dr Cate Roy, a former intern of the office and Dr George Slim, a consultant in the office, have co-authored a paper appearing in Policy Quarterly. The paper outlines how the research-policy interface can be strengthened, showing the enthusiasm researchers have to inform policy and the importance many in government place on evidence, while acknowledging the complexities and challenges in connecting central government and universities.
